About Us
Berry Medical Centre was established by Dr Neil Donovan 1995. What started out as a solo rural general practice, has now grown significantly to meet the demands of a growing Berry township. The rural background of our Doctors and Nurses allows us to meet a broad range of problems and where possible, deal with them at the surgery. We have a dedicated Treatment Room for emergencies. Each of doctors has special interest areas, from acute care, palliative care, skin cancer work and adolescent health. However, our goal is that you will find a doctor, who will become “Your GP”.
We strive to provide every patient with the very best of general practice care. We focus on personal and professional care. Our emphasis is on quality care, with time taken to fully know you and understand how we can help you overcome or manage health problems, and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Modern general practice is about a team approach and every member of our team, from our nurses, receptionists and health professionals at Berry Medical Centre will be working as part of a team, and aiming for you to feel comfortable and confident in our comprehensive and efficient service. This practice is AGPAL accredited and all our doctors are vocationally registered. Berry Medical Centre won an AGPAL Practice Excellence Award in 2009. We are training practice for the University of Wollongong and we have GP Registrars working with us, from time to time. We use the latest technology for our clinical and administrative work. We take great care with secure storage of patient information and maintaining your right to privacy.
We provide an after-hours service on a roster basis with two other practices in the area. Please ring the surgery phone number 4464 1577 after hours and you will be given the contact details for the “on-call doctor”. Where required we provide home visits to our patients. We believe that referrals and repeat prescriptions are much more than an administrative tasks, so ask you make an appointment to allow us to review your health in this matter. If you require an interpreter service please just ask. We have a reminder system for health checks and follow up, if you do not wish to be part of the system, please let the receptionist know.
If you have a problem, we would like to hear about it. We are always trying to improve our service. Please email us.
